Meet Andy Davidson
If you worked with Andy Davidson, you could be fooled by his deep level of Salesforce knowledge to believe he is a nerdy, techie dude. While he may be all of that, the rest of his story is pretty varied–so much more of Andy than meets the eye during working hours.
He got his first taste of Salesforce working for an ecommerce company. They were shopping for a CRM, Salesforce was chosen, he took a liking to it and away they went. He learned Salesforce, then decided to take a side trip to go for a Masters degree at Texas State (MBA). Particularly skilled at test-taking, Andy got his Master’s double time, graduated, and quickly got a Salesforce admin position. Then, one of his clients grabbed him and together they implemented Salesforce and he owned the instance of Salesforce for five years at PGI.
Now he uses that test taking knack to get Salesforce certifications. He has Admin 201 and Service Cloud Certifications and has three more in his sights for this year.
After working with PGI, Andy wanted to do less corporate work and more independent, startup work. A colleague introduced Andy to David Franklin. They met and Andy liked what he heard. It’s a startup. It’s Salesforce. It’s consulting, offering the opportunity to learn the gambit of Salesforce products. It’s mentoring–a big plus for Andy. And it’s working with Veterans–work with a mission. And, of course, the founder of Ventas Consulting, David Franklin. “David believes in what he’s doing–a genuine person you can trust,” Andy declares.
Because his parents were somewhat free-spirited, they moved a lot in when Andy was younger–something like nine times in his high school years. Andy is a tall–6’7,” a good characteristic for someone who wants to play baseball which he did at Union University in Tennessee and was named “Pitcher of the Year”. He coached, got coached and tried out for independent leagues till he gave it up, won $8000 playing poker and came to Texas.
Andy just has a knack for things! He has used his Master’s learning to help Ventas Consulting with organizational processes. He has his Fantasy Football league set up in a Developer org so he can keep track of it on his mobile. He shoots pool, bowls, plays poker. He is a wizard at Visual Workflow. He is a patient mentor, working with any newbies at Ventas Consulting.
Long term, Andy wants to continue expanding his Salesforce knowledge. He loves to mentor and wants to be able to reach out to as many as possible. He wants to help Ventas Consulting become a Platinum Partner. And keep playing poker and shooting pool.
